AP State TDP Felicitates Dr. Manohari on Women's Day


Dr. Manohari Velamati, founder of GramaDeep is among the nine women selected in the state by the Andhra Pradesh State Telugu Desam Party for felicitation in the category of 'Social Work' on International Women's Day on 8th March, 2017. 

In a event happened at the state party office at Guntur, Shri Nara Lokesh along with Ministers, Mr. Pratthipati Pulla Rao, Mr. Kala Venkat Rao, State TDP Women's wing head, Mrs. Shobha Hymavathi etc  felicitated Dr. Manohari who later addressed the gathering. 

 

 

1983 tenth batch Z. P. High School Old Students Shramadan for the development of Unity Park


On January 4th, 2016, 1983 batch old students of Kovvali Zilla Parishad High School came forward to do shramadan and partner with Grama Deep for the development of park along the bund of drinking water pond on the main road behind the panchayat office. Few other villagers and young volunteers participated in the shramadan. Mrs. Vani Nandigam and Mr. Manmohan Pothineni of 1983 batch coordinated the event with Grama Deep Dr. Manohari Velamati and successfuly completed the task. 1983 batch students also arranged a lunch for the participants and assured support to future village development activities.

 

 

   

  

 

A Cultural Night to Create Awareness on Sanitation


A Cultural Night, organised by Grama Deep, with performances by the Kovvali high school students at Unity Park, sponsored by Mr. Pramod Jampala of the USA in January 2017.. It was a program designed to create awareness on sanitation, wet waste and dry waste segregation and on the upcoming Grama Deep and panchayat partnership door to door collection garbage program. Smt. Vani Nandigam of Mahila Grama Deep, anchored the meeting. Villagers readily gathered and took home the message. 

  

    

Surveying the Status of Toilets & Awareness Campaign


GramaDeep, on 23rd December 2015, in collaboration with Kovvali Zilla Parishad High School conducted a survey on the individual households without the toilets, status of those under construction and created awareness on health and sanitation. 

  

  

Invitation to Grama Deep to Swach Andhra Celebrations- 2017 & 2018


On the invitation of Swach Andhra Corporation of Government of AP, Grama Deep presented it's initiatives at a stall of Swach Andhra Celebrations in Indira Gandhi Stadium in Vijayawada on October 2 in 2017 and 2018. The then chief minister of AP, Shri Chandrababu Naidu, rural development minister, Mr. Nara Lokes, rural development commissioner, Eluru Member of Parliament, Mr. Maganti Babu and others visited the stall and appreciated the efforts. 

 

  

    

 

Kovvali village Park inauguration by Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan


Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan of Lok Satta has visited Kovvali village on 17 October 2017 as the guest of Grama Deep. He inaugurated the park developed by Grama Deep in Kovvali village with the financial assistance of Dr. Usha Balakrishna Rao and gave a lecture on 'Manchi Samaaja Nirmaanaaniki Mana Paathra' to Kovvali Z.P.High School students. Earlier to that, Dr.JP addressed the media and also garlanded the three freedom fighters statues in the village. 

 

  

  

  

     

    

 

A NRI Woman Cardiologist, Dr. Amala Free Service to Village


Dr. Amala Chirumamilla, the daughter of Kovvali soil working as cardiologist in New York contacted Grama Deep on her interest to organise awareness and free medical campaigns in Kovvali during her short visit to the village in August 2018. As planned, Grama Deep facilitated an awareness campaign on 'Heart Problems- Prevention & Cure' along with demonstration of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) method  to students of Kovvali Z.P. High School students on 2nd August 2018. On the same evening, more than 100 patients consulted Dr. Amala in the free medical camp organised at Kovvali Vikas Kendra. Dr. Amala also contributed towards six plants in her family members' names in the village and took part in plantation program. Women members of Mahila Grama Deep appreciated and felicitated Dr. Amala on her professional achievements and for rendering  her service to the village.

  

    

  

 

Recognising the efforts of Grama Deep, founder Dr. Manohari was felicitated


Dr. Manohari Velamati, founder of Grama Deep was nominated among the 15 women in South India by Vishwa Dharma Mandir- India on the Move' organisation and was felicitated on it's Sthree Shakti Utsav Celebrations on 11th March 2018.

On the occasion of International Women's Day on 8th March 2019, DAV Public School in Secunderabad recognised Dr. Manohari's efforts and felicitated.
