Plantation & Village Beautification

Grama Deep, with the financial contributions and participation of villagers, developed four parks in Kovvali village. Once filled with weeds, litter and misused by public, these spaces are beautified with green cover offering recreation and social gathering. 'Unity Park/ Kovvali Aikyatavanam and Sphoorthi Vanam also provide space to organise public events. Parks provide sense of public pride and add value to the communities.

Grama Deep also has planted 1000s of trees in the streets, schools and is conserving them. It encouraged villagers to adopt plants and demonstrated how their households and streets can appear clean and beautiful with green cover.

Grama Deep used wall paintings, slogan boards and hoardings to increase awareness and motivate villagers to improve sanitation in the village.

Save Earth from Plastic

Innovative Program to Save Earth from Plastic Involving Children; 16 year old Amulya Surabhi sponsors the project and acts as a crusader to Save environment spreading her message.

GramaDeep launched a new project to save environment from plastic. Involving children/students in picking plastic for recycling and nurturing them with social responsibility is no longer a mission confined to Kovvali village. A iron mesh box installed in our Sphoorthi Vanam to dump all the plastic collected from the village attracted the eyes of teachers in schools of other mandals too.

An inspiring tale to share with you all is that of a 16 year old Amulya Surabhi, born and brought up in the US who became our young crusader to motivate the children to act and save the environment. Encouraged by her parents, she sponsored four plastic collection boxes and toured three schools along with GramaDeep to which the boxes are gifted, spreading her message to protect environment. She joined GramaDeep's team to continue her active involvement in future endeavours of her interest.

The three other village schools to which the project is spread are Gundogolanu Zilla Parishad High School; Z.P. High School-Kalaparru; and Z.P. High School in Satrampadu. In a special assembling of students at respective schools, the children are encouraged to pick plastic trash from their homes, streets or from dumps at any event and throw in the box placed at their school regularly which will be sent for recycling.
GramaDeep founder Dr. Manohari; donor Amulya Surabhi, her mother Anu; headmasters, teachers and all students of the schools participated in multiple events.
